LSI Activities and Projects:
As a true “family of volunteers,” LSI, together with all students who have chosen the path promoted by it, enjoys participating in numerous events (mostly of a cultural-scientific nature), among which we mention:
-
The “History in High Schools” Contest (“Istoria în Licee”) – organized within the Faculty of History, it is dedicated to high school students from the Moldova region, being LSI’s largest-scale project. Already having gone through several editions, the contest introduces students to the university world, while also constituting an efficient means of evaluating knowledge in a qualified environment and an opportunity for teamwork;
-
Conferences on current historical topics – supported by professors of the Faculty, researchers of the “A. D. Xenopol” History Institute in Iași, or other prominent guests from the historiographical environment, on the occasion of these conferences various interpretations (both old and new) on the discussed subjects are exposed to the public, encouragements are transmitted, and ideas about gaps in today’s historical study are launched;
-
Historical movie nights – considered the most attractive events, these film screenings differ from other similar events through the guaranteed participation of a specialist professor who, knowing the era referred to by the film very well, clarifies the message emphasized by the director and the artistic film, presents the context of its appearance, and draws attention to possible discrepancies or contemporary alterations;
-
Freshmen Ball (Balul Bobocilor), organized for all history students, but not only;
-
Activities within the mentoring program from the beginning of the academic year, targeting first-year students of the Faculty of History;
-
Participations in USR initiatives and events (Unifest festival, Congress of Students in Romania, General Assemblies, Winter Camp and Summer Camp camps, the “USR Training Academy” program);
-
Collaboration and participation in initiatives of the Student House of Culture in Iași (CCS), namely the Gaudeamus and FestudIS festivals and trainings organized by CCS;
-
LSI Volunteer Gala – a moment when all volunteers who actively got involved in the Association are awarded, being offered diplomas and certificates attesting their involvement in volunteering actions;

Wreath layings in front of monuments with a commemorative role for Romania’s past, on the occasion of December 1st;

Karl Popper-model debates between students on historical topics;
-

-
Socializing evenings;
