Philosophy Students’ League of Iași (L.S.F.I)

Overview

“Philosophy Students’ League of Iași” is a student association within the Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences that has been active for 10 years in the Iași university and community environment. It was created following a decision to unite 3 other student associations from the same faculty to form a single, much larger NGO capable of representing FSSP students. The NGO was established in 2015, aiming to create opportunities for personal, professional, social, and entrepreneurial development.

To achieve this purpose, the association has the following objectives:

• To promote excellence and develop leadership spirit;
• To support cooperation between the academic, political, and entrepreneurial environments;
• To promote cultural-civic, scientific, sports, and social activities;
• To promote the democratic spirit in the social, high school, and university environment;
• To offer new European perspectives and opportunities to the association’s members and students;
• To offer the opportunity to participate in local, national, and international programs for students and association members.

The vision of the Philosophy Students’ League of Iași association is to maintain a top position within the Iași campus through its activity of training and developing members/students, regardless of any limits that may arise.

These help maintain the academic framework, where both students and organization members can make their contribution. At the same time, the principles underlying the league’s activities and projects focus on offering support and assistance to students in the activities they carry out. Their purpose is to develop the skills they acquire during courses, regardless of their specializations.

Departments

Within L.S.F.I you can be active in the following departments:

Socio-Cultural Department: aims to promote and achieve the organization’s goals and objectives by implementing activities that contribute to the development of volunteers’ skills (teamwork, communication, organization, initiative, creativity, etc.), participation in cultural activities (artistic and sports events, visits to museum objectives, etc.), and involvement in charitable activities to offer support to various beneficiaries.

Human Resources Department: deals with organizing various activities, with its volunteers playing an important role in the logistics area of events. The purpose of the department is to develop volunteers’ qualities, for example: teamwork, communication, leadership, punctuality, and availability. They will learn how to manage their time, how to work in a team, how to communicate productively, and will develop both self-confidence and trust in the people around them.

Public Relations Department: deals with everything related to the “image and sound” of the league. PR volunteers work as a team to take photos and videos, design posts for social media (both in terms of appearance and the text presenting the post), and think of marketing strategies for the league’s activities. PR volunteers also help the other departments in promoting their activities.

Educational and Development Department: aims to support students’ academic journey and promote their rights in the university environment. Activities carried out within the department contribute to facilitating communication with teaching staff, encouraging active learning, and adapting new students to university life. Through the development component, the department offers students personal and professional training opportunities through trainings, practical activities, and experiences that allow them to improve their skills beyond academic content.
