Right to accommodation in University dormitories
The right to accommodation is granted to students enrolled in full-time studies, budget or fee-paying, from the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral study cycles, who do not have a permanent residence in the municipality of Iași. The main criterion for granting an accommodation place is the score of the previous academic year. For students enrolled in the 1st year, the grade obtained at admission will be taken into account.
Accommodation places are allocated by the Accommodation Commission of each Faculty. The Accommodation Commission consists of: the dean or a vice-dean of the Faculty, the chief administrator, the chief secretary, student representatives. For the constitution of the Commission, student representatives in the Faculty Council will participate and, when necessary, year-leader students will be co-opted, so that students represent more than 50% of the total members.
Students who are orphans of both parents as well as those in special protection arrangements – placement benefit from priority in receiving an accommodation place, if they have obtained over 30 credits in the subjects studied in the previous academic year.
Students who have received accommodation in one of the requested dormitories and do not present themselves to pick up the accommodation order or students who pick up the accommodation order but do not present themselves for accommodation are no longer eligible for accommodation in subsequent rounds until the requests of the other requesting students are covered.
The individual transfer of the accommodation place (with or without material reward) is prohibited, under penalty of losing the right to accommodation for the entire duration of studies at UAIC by the student(s) who used fraudulent means.
Accommodation fee reductions
Students who have received an accommodation place in the University’s dormitories and fall into the following categories may benefit from the accommodation fee reduction, within the limit of subsidies allocated for this purpose during the academic year:

Reductions are granted only based on supporting documents submitted to the dormitory administration, in accordance with the legal regulations in force.
Support for students who did not receive accommodation in the dormitory
Students who choose to live in accommodation spaces other than the University’s dormitories may benefit from the individual accommodation subsidy, according to the provisions of GEO no. 73/2004 and OM no. 7844/2024, with subsequent amendments, if they are enrolled in the full-time education form, on places financed from the state budget and do not have their domicile or residence in the locality where the University is located.
The subsidy is granted to students who come from families with monthly gross incomes per family member that do not exceed the minimum gross salary per economy, are up to 29 years old, and opt for this support, under conditions where the normalized accommodation capacity of the University’s dormitories has been exceeded and they have not received an accommodation place.
To benefit from the subsidy, the student must submit a copy of the rental agreement for spaces intended for housing, accompanied by the registration proof from the local taxes and fees Directorate. The subsidy is granted except during vacation periods.
