Description of Activities
The Student and Alumni Support Service is a structure within the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași and is subordinated to the Vice-Rectorate for the development of informational infrastructure and the relationship with students, the economic-social environment, and the Alumni community, led by Prof. Univ. Dr. Adrian IFTENE.We offer career counseling, psychological counseling, free personal and professional development workshops, support in employment preparation, and the opportunity to participate free of charge in career events – job fairs, volunteering and internship fairs, networking with employers, company presentations. We also handle surveying student opinion regarding university services through a satisfaction questionnaire and conduct studies regarding the employability of UAIC graduates. We organize and offer support to all students for the organization of Graduation Ceremonies.
The Student and Alumni Service also contributes to the development of cultural and artistic projects with and for UAIC students, one of which is the “Universitas” Choir.

Structure
The service includes specialists who can support you in:Professional Development
- career counseling through the evaluation of professional interests and skills;
- assistance in creating job search tools (CV, cover/motivation letter);
- preparation for presenting at the selection interview;
- identifying opportunities for developing professional skills and competencies;
- trainings for developing skills and aptitudes that can increase the chances of labor market insertion;
- promoting internship, traineeship, and job offers;
- organizing, upon request, selections and recruitments for companies;
- support in organizing internship placements for students within partner organizations.

- providing support for better self-awareness;
- developing personal resources;
- developing skills for setting goals and objectives, time and activity planning skills, and decision-making skills.
B) Educational counseling and mentoring
Through educational counseling and mentoring, we support students, pupils, or other categories of potential students requesting these types of activities in the following directions:
- counseling and assistance for choosing bachelor’s studies;
- counseling and assistance for choosing master’s studies;
- identifying educational opportunities (internships, scholarships and experience exchanges, etc.);
- counseling for integration into student associations;
- information regarding non-formal educational activities organized within the university;
- stress management during the exam session;
- identifying and promoting talented students;
- counseling and mentoring for students with learning difficulties.
Alumni and Labor Market Insertion
Activities related to Alumni and labor market insertion have as their main objective the increase of communication between the academic environment, alumni (graduates), and the economic environment (employers), in order to promote the educational offer, adapt the services offered by the education system, and correlate the labor market demand with the university educational offer. We are open to all professors, students, graduates, and labor market representatives who wish to collaborate with the university. We offer support to all UAIC students for organizing Graduation Ceremonies. In the same context, the “UNIVERSITAS” Choir also carries out its activity.
Activities related to the alumni community:
Activities related to the alumni community:
- developing the UAIC alumni community, in partnership with faculty representatives;
- identifying prestigious UAIC graduates and organizing events and/or thematic meetings with their presence;
- promoting job offers from companies among students and/or within the university campus;
- assisting students/graduates in finding a job, based on their psychological and professional profile, created in collaboration with the other units of the service;
- mediating communication between professors and alumni from the labor market, in order to organize interactive training sessions for UAIC students, roundtables, and/or professional panels in their targeted fields;
- facilitating the organization of mentorship programs for students and graduates, with the involvement of company specialists or entrepreneurs;
- developing the multidimensional study regarding student satisfaction with the services offered by the University and the labor market insertion of graduates;
- involvement in the systematic development of the UAIC graduate database;
- statistical processing and annual production of the “Report on the Labor Market Insertion of UAIC Graduates”;
- developing and proposing new methods for monitoring and evaluating the labor market insertion of UAIC graduates;
- conducting studies regarding employers’ expectations related to higher education graduates;
- conducting studies regarding graduates’ expectations from employers.

It participates in concerts both as an organizer and as a partner, having exceeded 100 musical productions performed to date. It is also present at events organized by the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași (Opening Festivity of the Academic Year, Dies Academici, award ceremonies for the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, congresses, conferences, symposia, Erasmus student meetings, etc.).

- ensures administrative and organizational support for carrying out specific SASS activities and those of the relevant vice-rectorate secretariat
- centralizes requests for organizing and/or promoting events within UAIC spaces or the student campus (submitted by students, companies/public and private organizations), ensuring they receive a response in the shortest possible time
- provides guidance to students/petitioners in their relationship with UAIC services, carrying out specific public relations activities
- maintains contact with UAIC student organizations and participates in periodic meetings designed to ensure the informational flow to and from UAIC
