Overview

The role of the Department for Doctoral University Studies is to initiate, support, and promote activities that back the smooth running of doctoral studies at UAIC. Starting with the 2005/2006 academic year, the organization and conduct of doctoral studies at UAIC fundamentally changed in form and content, becoming the third cycle of university studies and, at the same time, an element combining teaching and research activity, in the vision of the Bologna Process.

Activities:

• Counseling regarding UAIC’s doctoral study offer, admission conditions, and the stages required to complete doctoral university study programs;
• Assistance in organizing and conducting doctoral university study programs in accordance with institutional regulations;
• Centralized record of IOSUD-UAIC doctoral students and updating specific databases for their numerical and qualitative records;
• Drafting official documents regarding the activity of doctoral students and submitting the dossiers necessary for the validation of doctoral theses to CNATDCU;
• Participation in drafting presentations or reports regarding doctoral university studies requested at the university level (CSUD, Rectorate) or by other authorized institutions;
• Involvement in the implementation and execution of institutional projects in which doctoral students are trained;
• Facilitating communication between CSUD and doctoral schools;
• Counseling and drafting documents regarding the defense of the habilitation thesis, acquiring the quality of doctoral supervisor, and affiliation with IOSUD-UAIC.
