Overview

In 1991, the Didactic Roman Catholic Faculty of Theology within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Iași began its activity. The current faculty, established in 2002, represents a maturation of the former faculty, providing a legally and organizationally stable presence for a state university education institution with a specific Catholic religious character.

In teaching theological disciplines and for research and Catholic cultural promotion activities, the Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology collaborates and partners with the Roman Catholic Theological Institute in Iași. Research is conducted in two directions: theological and social.

Students of the Faculty have wide access to the reading room and library of the Roman Catholic Theological Institute, a library numbering over 50,000 volumes. The space offers the opportunity for research in the field of theology, with the hope of developing a Catholic theological school within the Romanian space as well.

The faculty offers a varied extracurricular program to meet the demands of integral human formation: excursions, pilgrimages, spiritual activities, and catechesis. For volunteer and practical activities, students have the opportunity to participate in activities of the Caritas Diocesan Center, a partner of the Faculty.

The Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology offers graduates the opportunity to carry out church activities as priests or in other specific ministries of the Catholic Church, social activities within governmental, non-governmental, or Church organizations, as well as teaching activities in university and pre-university education.
