Additional financial support for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers enrolled in the project „Educational and formative support for doctoral students and young researchers in preparing their insertion into the labor market”

Following the steps taken, „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași obtained, in January 2023, the approval to supplement the financial support granted to doctoral students and young researchers included in the target group of the project „Educational and formative support for doctoral students and young researchers in preparing their insertion into the labor market”.

Thus, the University obtained an increase in the number of places for postdoctoral researchers included in the project by 16, bringing the target group to a total of 120 beneficiaries compared to the 117 initially planned (of which 80 doctoral students and 40 postdoctoral researchers).

In addition, the University will award prizes worth 7133 gross lei each to the first 44 doctoral students who defend their doctoral thesis by October 30, 2023. It will also cover an additional 18 article publication fees, in addition to the 45 publication fees initially planned.

The methodology for granting the aforementioned awards will be published in the near future.

The interview period for candidates in the contest for granting postdoctoral scholarships within the project has been extended until October 13, 2022.

„Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași announces the launch of contests for granting a number of 24 postdoctoral scholarships for a period of 12 consecutive months, within the project titled „Educational and formative support for doctoral students and young researchers in preparing their insertion into the labor market”, MySMIS code 153322, co-financed from the European Social Fund through the Human Capital Operational Program, implemented in partnership with the Romanian Academy – Iași Branch.

The project aims to provide financial support for postdoctoral researchers, who will be part of the project’s target group, in the form of postdoctoral scholarships, carrying out mobilities, participating in conferences and publishing scientific articles, organizing advanced research skill development sessions with an applied component, and complementary, interdisciplinary course modules aimed at acquiring transversal, including pedagogical, skills.

The selection process for beneficiaries of postdoctoral scholarships in the amount of 600 euros/month will take place between October 7 – October 10, 2022, time interval: 10.00 – 15.00, with postdoctoral researchers who cumulatively meet the following conditions being eligible:
  • are European Union citizens with domicile or legal residence in Romania in one of the 7 development regions targeted by the project (all development regions in Romania, except the Bucharest-Ilfov region);
  • hold the scientific title of doctor obtained in Romania or abroad no more than 5 years before admission to the postdoctoral program;
  • are enrolled in postdoctoral study programs for one of the priority areas of the National Competitiveness Strategy 2014-2020, namely in smart specialization areas such as: Biology, Chemistry, Law, Cybernetics and Statistics, Accounting, Economics, International Economics and Business, Finance, Economic Informatics, Management, Marketing, Sociology, Communication Sciences, Political Sciences, Physics, Geography, Geology, Environmental Science, Computer Science, History, Mathematics, Psychology, Educational Sciences, Sport Science and Physical Education;
  • have not previously benefited from financing through SOP HRD/HCOP for similar activities or other public programs in this regard.
Selection Modality

The selection of candidates consists of two tests, as follows:
  • Test 1: Evaluation of the contest file
  • Test 2: Evaluation of the candidate during an interview
Candidate registration will be done in physical format at the Office for Doctoral University Studies – Rectorate, Building A, 2nd floor.

In exceptional cases, documents can be submitted electronically, provided they are also submitted in physical format by the date of the interview.
