Senate Decisions of March 27, 2014
1. Decision regarding the validation of the election of scientific researcher Ramona Țigănaşu, PhD, from the Center for European Studies, as a member of the University Senate, representing the Interdisciplinary Departments of the University, replacing scientific researcher III Marius Dobromir, PhD.
2. Decision regarding the approval of the composition of the vote counting commission for the approval of competitions for filling teaching and research positions at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, as follows:

Decision regarding compliance with the procedures established by the specific methodology and approval of reports on competitions for filling teaching positions (teaching assistant – temporary), put up for competition in the first semester of the 2013–2014 academic year. Appointment to the position shall be starting from April 14, 2014, according to Annex 1.
4. Decision regarding compliance with the procedures established by the specific methodology and approval of reports on competitions for filling teaching positions (university lecturer / work lab head, associate professor, and university professor – permanent), put up for competition in the first semester of the 2013–2014 academic year. Appointment to the position shall be made starting from the 2014–2015 academic year, according to the Annex.

Appointment to the position shall be made starting from April 14, 2014, funded by the University’s own revenues, according to Annex 3.

7. Decision regarding the approval of the modification of the score obtained for Romanian Academy awards: „50 points, regardless of the number of authors”, according to Annex 1 of the Competition methodology for filling temporary teaching and research positions at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași.
8. Decision regarding the approval of the Competition methodology for filling permanent teaching and scientific research positions, according to Annex 5.
9. Decision regarding the establishment of the research center named Advanced Studies in Chemistry (SAChim) within the Faculty of Chemistry. Director: Prof. Ionel Mangalagiu, PhD.
10. Decision regarding the establishment of the CERNESIM Research Center within the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași.

Decision regarding the approval of the proposal from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences to grant the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași to Professor Thierry de Montbrial, PhD, University of California, Berkeley, and of the Laudatio drafting commission in the following composition:

a) Bachelor’s and master’s university education:
- Technical, sciences, mathematics and applied mathematics, sports – 280 Euro/month;
- Socio-humanities, psychology, economics – 230 Euro/month;
- Technical, sciences, mathematics and applied mathematics, sports – 300 Euro/month;
- Socio-humanities, psychology, economics – 250 Euro/month;
20. Decision regarding the approval of extending the deadline for the public defense or the submission of theses for public defense for the following doctoral students funded through POSDRU projects:
