Student Associations and Leagues

Through associations and leagues, students who share common interests get to know each other and carry out various voluntary activities together, ranging from projects, trainings, and fairs to summer schools, festivals, or, in more difficult times, negotiations with high-ranking officials and ministers or even strikes.

At the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, there are over 20 such recognized associations, with new ones being established every year. Some of them cater only to students of a specific faculty, while others are open to all students or even any young people, with no study restrictions.

Why join a student association?

• it gives you the opportunity to do something useful and enjoyable with your free time and be a bit more than the typical student who only attends lectures, seminars, and laboratories;
• activity within an association does not follow a rigid schedule like a job or an internship, but rather a flexible one that is varied enough so you never get bored;
• it is an excellent source for gaining that “experience” so sought after by employers, even when it comes to fresh graduates;
• you can acquire or improve skills that are very useful not only in the job market but also in social life: teamwork, communication and presentation, event organization, public speaking, etc.;
• you meet people whose diversity can enrich your life;
• through an association project, you can travel abroad via youth exchanges, summer schools, conferences, etc.;
• often among former members with whom contact is maintained, you will also find managers or directors of profile companies, whom you have the opportunity to impress with your qualities and before whom you can present yourself after graduation with a CV for employment;
